Chuck explores the city of Yellowknife alongside Gwich’in chef Steph Baryluk and the Frybread Kings from the Dene Nation. With a one-quarter Indigenous population, the capital city serves as a hub for the First Nations of the Northwest Territories. After some cranberry picking, Steph invites Chuck to a cooking class—compote served on bannock along with a caribou-bison shepherd’s pie. The Frybread Kings show off their Dene-Mexican fusion tacos before serving them up at the public market.
